Scoil Íosa is a four-teacher school situated in the townland of Castleduff in the village of Carracastle. This is a rural parish nestling in the corner of three counties, County Roscommon lies to the east, County Sligo to the north but most of the parish is in County Mayo which is on the old Charlestown to Ballaghaderreen road.
The school is adjacent to a new pre/after school service which can cater for up to thirty five children, ranging in ages from three to twelve years.
The new building adjoins the grounds of Scoil Iosa, allowing the safe and secure movement of the children between the two buildings.
The three services preschool/primary/afterschool available to the community of Carracastle and surrounding areas is a fantastic service for the working parents.
