Scoil Íosa-Carracastle
Fáilte Isteach Chuig Ár Scoil
Scoil Íosa is a four-teacher primary school situated in the townland of Castleduff in the village of Carracastle. This is a rural parish nestling in the corner of three counties, County Roscommon lies to the east, County Sligo to the north but most of the parish is in County Mayo which is on the old Charlestown to Ballaghaderreen road.
Scoil Íosa was built in 1982 and amalgamated a number of schools in the area.
Next to the school is Castlekidz Childcare Service, a purpose built facility which includes a Breakfast Club, Full Day Care, Sessional Pre-school and After school that caters for children ranging in ages from three to twelve years.
All of the services are available to the community of Carracastle and surrounding areas and have proven to be a fantastic asset for working parents.

Green School
What is green school Ireland?
Green-Schools is Ireland's leading environmental management and education programme for schools. Promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community.
We are very proud to say that we are a green school and have many flags to show for our time and commitment to this programme.
We will continue to support this and bring many more flags to Scoil Íosa in the future.
