Science In Our School
As part of our Discover Primary Science Award., we had a visit from Neasa Gannon a fire officer from Mayo County Council, who gave us a talk on fire safety and showed us equipment used such as thermal imaging.
Neasa talked to us about the danger of fires and matches and talked to us about her role in the fire service. She brought some equipment with her and a firefighter uniform.

As part of Science Week fifth and sixth class organised a science day for the other classes. There were lots of brilliant experiments, such as using circuits to make a lighthouse and foghorn, looking at an erupting volcanoe, preparing chemical reactions, inflating balloons using baking soda, optical illusions, floating and sinking, lava lamps, a walking rainbow and looking at solids and liquids. All of the pupils and teachers really enjoyed the experiments. It was very enjoyable and educational day for all.
